The game for Nintendo Wii has three modes: a career mode, a free play (quick play) mode, and a workout mode. In career mode you move from venue to venue with a certain goal for success in each venue. For example, in one venue you might simply have to complete three songs, or get a rating of B in three songs, or correctly perform 30 consecutive dance moves in three songs. When you move to the next venue you have the exact same songs unless completing the previous venue unlocked a song for you, but you have a different goal for advancing.
The free play and workout modes are similar, the free play simply lets you pick what song you want to dance to without any goals, as does the workout mode.
I would not recommend this game for anyone who never played Dance Dance Revolution before. You should probably go into this purchase knowing whether or not you're going to like the game enough. This game is particularly good for anyone who wants to get a group of friends and have a lot of fun.
