Deep Labyrinth
Monday Aug 21, 2006.

Originally designed and developed for ultra last generation Japanese cell phones, video game Deep Labyrinth found a place within the Nintendo DS platform fans. Developer Interactive Brains and publisher Atlus Software and Marvelous Interactive have just released this first 3D videogame for the DS.

Deep Labyrinth takes full advantage of the DS's dual screens and touch screen features. The bottom screen is where you do your whacking of evil pudding mounds, three-headed dogs and animated skeletons.

There are icons for your trusty sword, semi-useful shield, and a magic diagram you can call up to weave some ether, blast some fire bolts and what not. On the top screen you'll have two views of the map and your gauges, which guide your decisions on where to go and when to reach into your pocket icon for a health potion.

You can swing in whatever direction you like by making cutting motions with the stylus, which is fun but not really necessary (tapping the screen works fine). You raise your shield by touching the icon, although you'll probably favor the sword for its much faster response time. You'll uncover a large number of magic spells as well, which tie directly into the whole door and key thing.

Product Features:

  • Descend into the dark heart of the Labyrinth in this 3D first-person RPG

  • Explore a world populated by magical creatures and monstrous foes

  • Use dual screens and touch screen to explore dozens of dungeon levels

  • Fight hordes of hideous monsters in real-time with swords and spells

  • 2 engrossing scenarios weave 2 amazing stories
