Publisher Capcom from the USA joined distributor Ingram Entertainment to create one of the top notch graphics on the PSP: Monster Hunter Freedom. All the levels look fascinating. You can see again the armors and guns in this thrill. Weapons and armor look exactly like the monster you cut them from.
Monster Hunter Freedom takes place in a pseudo-prehistoric time and place in which small tribes of humans with a fair amount of technological savvy live mostly in peace. Except, of course, for all the monsters. It also introduces a new treasure-hunting quests, which are faster paced than the usual quests and simply require you to deliver a bunch of items you recover off monsters, or find in the field, back to the base camp.
Shamelesly, in this PSP videogame you are a nobody that wants to become the best monster hunter legend in the village. So the game starts out from there and you live out the rest. Wth weapons and traps galore, you discover the monster hunter in you.
You take up missions from the village elder, and they all get very repetitive after a while. And there are about 3-4 types of missions that occur in the game, and they adjust for the multiplayer option. The multiplayer in Freedom can be fun, assuming you have nearby friends who share your enthusiasm for killing prehistoric monsters, but it's still no substitute for a proper online mode.
You start off the PSP videogame with a single blade weapon, though you can also switch over to the slow-moving but extremely powerful great swords, hammers, and lances; the faster-moving dual swords; or the ranged bowgun. The weapons, which were controlled with the right analog stick in the PS2 game, have been ported to controls that seriously suit the PSP well.
