SOCOM 3 is the third installment in Sony's PlayStation 2 marvelous war series developed for a mature video game audience hitting next game shopping season.
Created
in association with the U.S. Naval Warfare, SOCOM 3 is as close look to what it feels to be a classic Navy SEAL digitally on the PlayStation 2. It is your duty, this time, to protect America from terror forces in urban and rural warfare throughout the world teaming up with friends online to battle the bad guys in this video game.
Obviously and for the first time in the SOCOM series, land and water vehicles play a central role in the gameplay experience. Vehicles are drivable by both players and Artificial Intelligence and cover a range of military and civilian vehicles including tactical turret-equipped pickups and the SEAL-team configured military Humvee and SOC-R Assault Boat.
Not being enough, the innovative new weapon customization system in SOCOM 3 allows players to use more than 30 different weapons and attachments, resulting in nearly 1,000 different weapon combinations.
The gameplay is solid, and although the A.I. could be improved upon, it is still great with the online modes. The sounds are perfect for the type of environment and make you feel like you are immersed within an actual battle.
Graphically wise, the maps are very well done and is the perfect element to make the game complete. Overall there aren't many things that anyone can find wrong with the game, and that's the way the developers intended. In other words, SOCOM 3 looks pretty darn good in the PlayStation 2.
Certainly, SOCOM 3 is a “must” that young players should get for themselves during these holidays.
