Sonic the Hedgehog, Tails, Knuckles flies in their air boards! Sega's new racer for the PS2, and other generation consoles, Sonic Riders, is getting close to release rated “Everyone” for Comic Mischief, Mild Realistic Violence.
Developed by Sonic Team, Tokyo, Sonic Riders can be played up until 4 PS2 players (the game can also be displayed in Gamecube, and the Xbox) integrates Extreme sports, high-speed racing and head-to-head battles a new racing experience with Sonic unlike any before in other racing games.
In Sonic Riders, a brand new band of thieves called the Babylon-Rogues is on-hand to school poisoned by Dr. Eggman who challenges Sonic and his pal with their Air Boarding skills to a Worldwide Grand Prix, and the prize for coming out on top is an ultra-rare Chaos Emerald!
Gliding on high-tech air boards –to refuel each one, you'll have to pick up assorted items spread out on the track that will refill your tank to varying degrees- gamers will experience a heightened sense of sports-style racing tension as Sonic and his pals perform tricks and stunts over treacherous wide-open terrain.
Sonic and friends speed through tracks on air boards, using individual special moves to strike down opponents. You can fill up your air at various points. The trick system in Sonic Riders involves three mechanics: Grinding, trick zones and turbulence. Grinding is the ability to ride a pipe or rail; in that way, you a higher racing speed for as long as you stay on. Trick zones are basically sort of springboards that let you do any of the available trick actions. And you can make use of turbulence from racers who are in front of you.
