Wondering about the use of those Donkey Konga Bongo Controllers? For playing music, you've said? Well, as soon as you know that Nintendo has created Donkey Kong Jungle Beat , for Game Cube, you'll figure out what to do with those controllers. But it's definitely not a rhythm game.
Nintendo brings our favorite monkey videogame character into new challenges but keeping up some ape customs. You can play the game with a standard GameCube controller, but the bongos make the difference from a fantastic and exciting videogame to an average platform videogame.
Slapping the right drum and left drum makes Donkey Kong run to the right and to the left, respectively. The more you hit it, the faster he runs, and hitting both drums at the same time makes him jump.
The game leap over several scenarios, each one comprised of two stages and a boss encounter. The goal is the completion of each stage, collecting bananas as you go. The bananas translate into "beats," and they give you health and strength to face and kick the enemy, but the more beats you get the easier to go by different worlds is.
Playing Donkey Kong in Jungle Beat for Game Cube is nice and it requires easy-to-learn techniques, with a lot of bouncing around and some unique challenges. For example, a level will actually be a race against creatures. Or how do you get rid off a high-speed animal whilst you are on its back? Sometimes you'll be underwater. Underneath it all, the game gets very attractive when Donkey (You) battles with the bosses. Some of them give you hard work, and others don't. And after the first eighth or 10th level, the bosses start to repeat.
The look of the game is clean, as you'd expect from Nintendo. The sound and themes in the game fit really well. Anyone with moderately developed action game skills will finish this game in one day. Besides that, it's simply a fun game to play to enjoy with some friends.
