Metal Gear Solid 3: SNAKE EATER
Monday March 14, 2005.

In this tactical espionage action videogame version for PS2, a life-or-death rescue mission is not only the goal for the leading character Snake but to survive into the thick jungle. Unlike the previous two videogames, Metal Gear Solid 3 - SNAKE EATER features a tremendous amount of weapons, almost twice as much.

However, like its predecessors (MGS 2: Sons of Liberty, and MGS 2: Substance), it maintains full details on graphics, as all the videogames directed by Hideo Kojima used to be. Also, m any previous gameplay elements are untouched, such as the ability to stick up a guard with a gun to his back, shoot out his radio to prevent him from signaling for reinforcements, and sneak around while hiding in an inconspicuous cardboard box.

But PS2 videogame fans will find four astonishing attributes that will make MGS chapters one of the most addicting games on the market. On one hand, soldier-in-the-jungle Snake has to feed and heal from injuries by himself; on the other, he's the training of Close Quarters Combat and special hide techniques, . Here is a summary of the features in this videogame:

Eat: The jungle has a lot of stuff that you can't avoid in an edgy situation. Fruits and roots are fine, but what about snakes, rats, spiders, and birds? Tip: If the food tastes good, you recover your energy… Yes, Snake can taste things!

Cure: In this chapter of MSG there aren't many life-giving rations, but at least you can recover from wounds or illnesses by yourself. Options are available for seeing and treating injures.

CQC: Snake's a master of "CQC," a fighting style used when you have to fight multiple enemies that are very close to you, or when you don't know from where you will be attacked. It lets Snake use a gun and a knife to deal with any threats.

Camouflage: From a menu, you may choose different uniforms and face-paint schemes to better blend with your surroundings. Not only that, but many posture options let you hide in the bushes and grass.

Added to the thrill, the videogame makes use of the PS2 controller's pressure-sensitive buttons, so different actions (such as putting a foe into a choke hold or slitting his throat with Snake's survival knife) are triggered depending on how hard you push down.
